Second place winner on season three of America’s Got Talent, Eli Mattson is a force to reckon with. His album “Next 4” features (not surprisingly) 4 tunes: three original songs, plus Marc Cohn’s “Walking In Memphis “ http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/elimattson2. His 2004 self-titled debut is a full-length, full band production.
Eli Mattson started piano lessons at age five but since the age of two was always sitting at the ivory keys making music. He wrote his first instrumental piece at the age of eleven three song demo when he was 19, he received a Peninsula Arts Association/Wisconsin Arts Board grant to make a full cd of original music. The cd was called “Monstersâ€, and he quickly sold out the first printing. Since then he has traveled around the country performing solo in piano bars and spent the better part of one year on the road with a country band that honed his performance skills and taught him the rules of the road.
As Sharon Osborn said, “Eli you played with such emotion and passion… you make every song your own.â€
